The first single from Terrain's upcoming Album, Chimney Ash.

I'm losing myself in such a stormy season
Where a large house still stands
Home came crashing down

I'm leaning against the wall
With my eyes on the ceiling
Between the open sky
And the cold, hard ground

Slowly, I regress
Living day to day in different shades of grey
My shirt is well-pressed
And my guitar is locked away

Mundane occupations
Empty conversations
Shallow aspirations
Loan applications

And I could leap out the window
Just to feel the breeze
Or throw out the alarm
So I can stay asleep

And dream of a life
Where I'm deaf to everything except these songs
I wanna walk in my own rhythms
And sing my own hymns

I never wanted to go back to suburbia
Or get credentials in academia
I live a sleepless dream in America
'Cause society just keeps trying to wake me up
To a reality of repetitive routines
Forging happiness through monetary means
Building shrines out of material things
Is a reality that's just not real to me
